A couple of weeks ago, I picked up this recipe card from the counter at Starbucks. I tried it today and thought it was pretty good. It tastes exactly like banana bread should taste. Not too sweet and nice and moist with plenty of yummy banana flavor. If you have a few ripe bananas laying around, give it a try. I may try to replace some of the flour with ground up rolled oats in the future, just for some added nutritional value, but I approve very much of this recipe.
This post is dedicated to my sister who says I've been posting too much about bow ties lately. I've decided that bow tie updates will only happen on Tuesdays and I'm going to blog about other things the other days so as to not bore all my readers.
We aren’t sure, but the Starbucks website says 121g has 490 calories. Hope this helps!
Does anyone know how many calories there are per slice?
yes. its a good one!
Thanks for posting this recipe! I’ve always wanted to make banana bread and this looks simple enough. :)
your Grandma covered the loaf with saran wrap while it was a bit warm, that will give you a sticky top and very moist loaff
This is outstanding. I have made it more than ten times now and today used coconut oil to replace the veg oil: DELICIOUS. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you sooooo much for posting this. I too once had this card, made copies for friends…I have made this for the past few years so many times that I thought I should know this by heart but as one gets old my memory just isn’t what it used to be. Looking at Starbucks website they are no longer giving this out…. So again I say thank you, you have made many people in our household very happy.
Thank you! I lost my card and couldn’t find another one. . . so thank you, thank you thank you for posting it!!!!!!!!!!
You saved my sanity today! I realized that I left my personal copy at my parents house over the Holidays! I love this recipe, also, sometimes I’ll add some crushed apples and cinnemon to taste instead of the nuts. It makes the break a little bit more moist but its lovely!
Thank you so much for posting this. I lost my card. I am glad to see its a great recipe, we will make it today!! One question, does this loaf have a sticky top? My great grandmothers banana bread always had a sticky top. How do I get it that way?
Thank you for posting this recipe. I have been looking for this since I lost my personal copy.
Googled this and found you it thanks to you.

Thanks so much! I left this recipe at my paren’ts house a few hours away, and wanted to make this delicious bread today! Thanks for posting it. You’ve made my own AND my husband’s day! :)
I too picked up a banana walnut bread recipe card from Starbucks. It is actually called Banana loaf when it is sold in the store. It is excellent. I agree with adding some oatmeal to replace some of the flour. And I added extra nuts. Everyone who had it at the family reunion loved it.
oops. Sorry, this is Rachel, not Ben.
Yes. I was excited to see a non bow tie post too!
thanks!!!! I was very excited :)
